Implants

If you are missing a tooth an implant may be recommended as a method for replacement. Implants require the surgical placement of a titanium “post” into the patient’s jaw bone, left in place for 4 to 6 months to allow for proper healing (osseointegration), then restoration of that implant with a dental crown is completed. Implants are an excellent way of restoring missing teeth. However thorough consultation and planning is required as not all patients are good candidates for this procedure. Some cases require multiple bone grafts and gingival surgery to allow for the proper contouring and best esthetic results. The actual surgical placement of the implant will either completed by an Oral surgeon or Periodontist both of which are specialized in this field. Final restoration with a dental crown is then completed at our office.
